Hearing Aid Repairs

Hearing aids will eventually be in need of repair. Blue Ridge Speech and Hearing Center repairs most makes and models of hearing aids. Often the hearing aid can be repaired in office and returned to you the same day. If the hearing aid must be sent out, it generally takes one to two weeks. You may pay an additional fee to expedite hearing aids requiring manufacturer repairs.

Repair costs vary depending on who the manufacturer is, what type of technology is in your hearing aid and if your hearing aid is greater than 5 years of age.

If you are complaining of feedback, the annoying whistle, you will need an appointment. The feedback could be the result of a poor fit or earwax blocking your ear canal.

If you did not purchase your hearing aids from Blue Ridge Speech and Hearing Center with in the last year or your hearing aids are out of warranty, a member of the professional staff will check and clean your hearing aids for a nominal fee. You may drop your hearing aids off at the front office window during business hours. You will be asked to complete a short form describing any problems you have encountered with your hearing aids. Typically, you will be called to pick them up the same day or if an audiologist or the hearing aid technician is available your hearing aid may be repaired and cleaned immediately.

We will often need to have an updated hearing test on file in order to evaluate whether the hearing aid continues to be appropriate for your hearing loss and if it is worth your time and money to have it repaired. If you have a hearing test from another facility you may provide that to our clinic to help with our diagnostic findings on your hearing aid.
